Welcome to La Antigua Escuela (The Old School House), a cosmopolitan guesthouse in the very centre of Posadas. Strategically situated in the heart of Andalucia, Posadas is within easy driving distance of both Cordoba and Seville, two of the most historical and popular cities in mainland Spain. With the Mediterranean coast of the Costa del sol and the Atlantic coast of the Costa de la luz accessible for day trips, we are ideally situated.
Immediately north of Posadas lies the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Hornachuelos, part of a wide protected band in the Sierra Morena or “ Dark Mountains”. Covering some 67,202 hectares this area is the largest natural park in the province of Cordoba and is home to the second largest colony of black vultures in Andalucia, in addition to a further three colonies of tawny vulture, not to mention the lynx, mongoose, otter and wolf, along with game such as deer and wild boar.
Having several large lakes within easy driving distance of Posadas, activities such as carp fishing (subject to the relevant license) and wake boarding are available. Coupled with endless walks and horse riding, Posadas offers something for every one.
Posadas is true Spain - with currently just a handful of expats living outside of the town it offers typical Andalucian life. Grand town houses once owned only by the wealthy stand tall and proud within the quaint narrow streets and with a wealth of bars offering regional dishes, shops and squares there is not an English newspaper or ´fast food´ establishment available for miles.
